Artist Statement:
Painting imaginative abstract formations on canvas has been my favorite subject for
many years.  Acrylics- as a primary medium using a mix of “Old World” color with a
“New World” contemporary look and feel. I am determined to work each piece a little
different with texture and color. These fundamental basics have been the balance and
break though for many of the works. Painting with more open flare and expression
seems to release new attitudes and sensations, thus allowing my sub consciousness to
take over on shapes. “Having the freedom to paint with all my devotion has made a
tremendous impact on how I do things now…with all the disciplines and traditional
restraints now broken, one gets a feeling from the work that clearly demonstrates this
display of passion and freedom”

Mindy Sargent grew up in Bar Harbor, Maine where she was always surrounded by the beauty of the changing seasons. She enjoyed living in Alaska and traveling the U.S and Canada before she made her home here in Pensacola, Fl.

Over the past 10 years she has found her passion in photographing nature in its entire splendor. When she isn’t behind the lens of a camera she enjoys taking life as it comes and enjoying it to its fullest.

Jaco’s is proud to announce a very special Art à la carte for the month of February. Each month we feature a new artist whose work is for sale and will hang on the walls of the restaurant for that month and during the meet and greet that night we have a free wine tasting of that months featured wines. The February 5th event is going be even more exciting as we have partnered with the advanced photography program at Pensacola State College and are having a sunset photo contest for their students. The students who’s photos will be on display will be there on the 5th to discuss their shots. For the month of February customers of Jacos will be able to vote for their favorite photo in the restaurant and also on our Facebook page. At the end of the month we will tally the votes and select a winner and honorable mention who will both receive awards. The winning photographer will also have the opportunity to be our featured artist for a future month. Additionally Jaco’s will make a donation to the schools program. The students have been out on the Palafox pier regularly trying to catch that perfect shot so we should have some great representations of our beautiful sunsets on the Bayfront.
